How Microchip Recognition Works
The reader activates only when your pet puts its head into the frame and blocks an infrared sensor. Simply approaching will not open the lid.
Fast-Close Mode (Beta) Use with Caution · Effectiveness Still Under Evaluation
Closes immediately when your pet pulls its head out and may startle cautious cats. The default Standard Mode is recommended for most pets. Intended only for persistent food thieves.

Why does my pet need to put its head inside to open the lid?
The feeder does not scan continuously. Your pet only needs to enter slightly and block an infrared sensor to activate recognition. This saves battery and prevents the lid from opening too early, reducing the likelihood of another pet stealing food
Why does my pet seem to need to reach deep inside before the lid opens?
Your pet does not need to reach deep inside. After an infrared sensor is blocked, the feeder takes about one second to scan the microchip and open the lid. During this delay, your pet may move forward naturally. With practice, it will learn to wait.
Why won’t my compatible microchip pair?
The feeder supports 15-digit ISO FDX-B microchips at 134.2 kHz. If pairing fails, test the included RFID tag. If the tag works, the reader is normal. The chip may use a special format or be over 12 cm from the front frame. Use the RFID tag if needed.
Why does the lid open only occasionally with a paired microchip?
First, confirm the microchip is paired, then check where it is implanted. A chip positioned farther back near the shoulders may fall outside the optimal reading range. Our feeder risers can improve its height and alignment with the reader antenna.
The feeder’s sound and lid movement frighten my pet. What should I do?
Cautious pets may need time to become comfortable with the feeder’s sound and lid movement. Follow the step-by-step training guide and let your pet adjust at its own pace. Some pets may need several weeks, but can use it confidently once familiar.
