What is the difference between the rake and the slicker brush in this set?

Will the slicker brush hurt my dog if she has sensitive skin?

Some dogs are sensitive to slicker pins, so use light, short strokes and never press into the skin. Take the rake through tangles first, and if your dog flinches or pulls away, stop and check with your groomer.

How do I use the rake in heavy shedding season without fur flying around the house?
